Arresting collisions of form, the architectural vision of Frank Gehry was singular. He saw forms no one else saw, he embraced computers as a means to an end, he brought into existence fantastical structures previously unimagined. He designed shopping malls until reinventing himself at age 50 an architectural auteur. From that point forward, over the next 46 years, he worked… first building up to, then leveling up to the big-time after the opening of the Guggenheim Bilbao in 1997. He was working when he died, with many projects still to come or currently under construction. A truly amazing life. Amongst the most distinctive Architects in American history, Frank Gehry, dead at 96.
Patron Saints represent historical figures, cultural figures who have embodied the largest forces of inspiration to Optiflux and how we look at creativity. A Patron Saint can be alive or dead, when they die, these bios also become obituaries. Be aware that Patron Saint pages can and will be added to whenever any new, interesting facts become known. Documents in flux, that’s the idea.
