Charles Manson, one of the most notorious murderers of the 20th century, who was very likely the most culturally persistent and perhaps also the most inscrutable, died on Sunday in a hospital north of Los Angeles. He was 83 and had been behind bars for most of his life.

David Cassidy, the actor, singer and teen heartthrob best known for his role as the band member with the green eyes and the feathered haircut on the 1970s television sitcom “The Partridge Family,” died on Tuesday. He was 67.

McDonalds Corporation has announced that although the original 62-year-old sign will be removed first and preserved, the replica museum itself will be demolished and the land gifted to the City of Des Plaines.
